Service & Integrity

Public service is a promise — commitment to put people before politics. After twenty-six years of military and federal service, I’ve seen how accountability and integrity can rebuild trust when leadership fails. I’m running to restore that trust, to ensure transparency in government, and to make sure your representatives answer to you, not the powerful. Marylanders deserve leaders who serve with integrity, keep their word, and deliver results for the people they represent.

How I’ll work to make that happen:

  1. Strengthen government transparency by requiring public reporting on congressional travel, lobbying contacts, and outside financial interest.

  2. Support congressional term limits and a ban on stock trading by members of Congress to keep public service truly public.

  3. Hold leaders accountable with stronger ethics rules, independent oversight, and real consequences for corruption and misuse of taxpayer funds.

  4. Expand constituent access by holding regular townhalls and open forums across Maryland’s 5th District to ensure every voice is heard.

  5. End the revolving door between Congress and lobbying firms by enforcing stricter cooling-off periods for former members and senior staff.

  6. Protect whistleblowers who expose government fraud, waste and abuse — because accountability starts with courage.

  7. Lead by example — rejecting corporate PAC money and prioritizing people-powered campaigns to keep public service truly public.

  8. Sponsor a federal employee “Bill of Rights” — telework flexibility, fair performance processes, and mental health and reasonable accommodation support.

Economic Fairness & growth

Every Marylander deserves a fair shot — the chance to earn a good living, support their family, and build a better future. But for too long, our economy has worked for the wealthy few instead of the people who keep it running. Families are working hard than ever to stay afloat, while too many good paying jobs are disappearing from our communities.

I’m running to build an economy that rewards work, not wealth — one that lifts up Maryland’s working and middle class, strengthens small businesses, and creates new paths to opportunity within our district.

How I’ll work to make that happen:

  1. Raise wages and protect workers’ rights by supporting fair pay, safe workplaces, and stronger collective bargaining protections.

  2. Support small businesses and local entrepreneurs through access to low interest loans, simplified regulations, and local hiring incentives.

  3. Invest in clean energy and infrastructure jobs to modernize Maryland’s roads, bridge, ports, mass transit, and power grid — creating thousands of new union jobs.

  4. Expand workforce development and trade programs at Maryland’s community colleges so residents can train for high-demand, good-paying careers that will stimulate the economy and provide upward mobility.

  5. Strengthen family financial security by lowering everyday cost — from childcare to housing to groceries and healthcare by expanding federal incentives. You work hard and your paychecks should go further.

  6. Ensure tax fairness by finally closing tax loopholes that benefit billionaires and corporations while providing real, tangible middle and working-class relief.

  7. Lower everyday cost for families by tackling price gouging in groceries, utilities, childcare, and housing.

Social Commitment
& Care

A society is only as strong as how it treats its people. Every Marylander deserves access to affordable healthcare, safe housing, and the peace of mind that comes from knowing they can care for their families and loved ones. We have a moral responsibility to look out for one another — to make sure no one falls through the cracks.

How I’ll work to make that happen:

  1. Protect and strengthen Social Security and Medicare so seniors can retire with dignity and security.

  2. Defend healthcare access by moving toward universal coverage by strengthening the Affordable Care Act and expanding affordable options for all Marylanders.

  3. Lower prescription drug cost through direct negotiation with pharmaceutical companies and caps on out-of-pocket expenses.

  4. Include vision, hearing, and dental services as part of any Medicare expansion legislation.

  5. Support mental health and addiction treatment with expanded funding for community-based care, crisis intervention, and veteran mental health programs.

  6. Invest in affordable housing and homelessness prevention to ensure every family has a safe place to call home.

  7. Provide real support for caregivers and parents by expanding access to affordable childcare and paid family leave.

Justice & Equality

Justice for All” is not an empty slogan - it’s a promise that every person, no matter their background deserves fairness, dignity, and respect. But too often, that promise depends on your zip code, your income, or the color of your skin. We can and must do better to ensure that every person is treated equally.

I believe in the rule of law. I believe we can have an America where laws protect everyone, opportunity reaches everyone, and justice serves everyone.

How I’ll work to make that happen:

  1. Reform the criminal justice system to focus on rehabilitation, fairness, and second changes — not mass incarceration.

  2. End racial and economic disparities in policing and sentencing by expanding community-oriented policing with increased accountability and transparency.

  3. Protect voting rights by strengthening the Voting Rights Act and making it easier, not harder, for Americans to cast their ballots.

  4. Defend women’s rights by safeguarding reproductive freedom, enforcing equal pay, and expanding access to childcare and healthcare.

  5. Ensure LGBTQIA+ equality with federal protections against discrimination in housing, employment, healthcare, military service, and other public services.

  6. Uphold disability rights by enforcing the Americans with Disabilities Act and expanding accessibility across public spaces and workplaces.

  7. Combat hate crimes and extremism through stronger enforcement, designations, and community-based prevention programs.

  8. Strengthen oversight and accountability to ensure equality under the law isn’t just promised, it’s enforced.

Education & the Future

Education is the foundation of our democracy and the key to a stronger, more prosperous Maryland. Every child — no matter their status in life. Every person deserves a great education, dedicated teachers, and the chance to build a better life for themselves and their family.

Investing in our schools is investing in our future. We need classrooms that inspire creativity, career programs that open doors, and policies that treat education as the great equalizer it was meant to be — not a privilege for the few.

How I’ll work to make that happen:

  1. Fully fund Maryland’s public schools so every student has access to quality teachers, smaller class sizes, and modern learning environments.

  2. Raise teacher pay and classroom support to attract and retain the best educators in the nation. I will also advocate for year-round teacher pay to ensure their financial stability so teachers do not have to obtain additional employment to support their livelihood.

  3. Expand access to early childhood education by making pre-K universal and affordable for working families.

  4. Create retraining pathways for veterans and mid-career workers to ease the transition into emerging industries like cybersecurity and green energy.

  5. Make higher education and job training debt-free through free community college and trade school internships and workforce programs that prepare students for real-world careers.

  6. Strengthen STEM, clean-energy, and technical education to build Maryland’s future workforce in growing industries.

  7. Close the digital divide so every student, urban, rural, or suburban, has access to reliable internet and learning technology.

  8. Promote civic education and community engagement to teach the next generation the value of democracy, service, and leadership.

Climate, Security, & Resilience

Protecting our planet and our people go hand in hand. Climate change, natural disasters, and global instability threaten our safety and economy, but with smart leadership, we can meet these challenges head-on.

From the Chesapeake Bay to Southern Maryland’s coastal towns, we’ve already seen how flooding, rising sea levels, and severe storms impact our communities. Maryland deserves leadership that takes the threat seriously — not with fear, but with action.

I will push for clean-energy investment, disaster preparedness, and infrastructure that strengthens our communities while creating good-paying jobs. A stronger, safer Maryland is one that looks to the future, not away from it.

How I’ll work to make that happen:

  1. Invest in clean and renewable energy like solar, wind, and electric infrastructure to reduce emissions and create high-quality union jobs across Maryland.

  2. Protect the Chesapeake Bay and coastal resilience through stronger stormwater management, shoreline restoration, and pollution reduction programs.

  3. Upgrade critical infrastructure to withstand extreme weather, flooding, and other climate-related disasters.

  4. Fully fund and expedite MARC and Metro expansion into Southern Maryland to reduce commute times by connecting St. Mary’s and Charles counties to D.C.

  5. Support sustainable agriculture and local farming to protect our food supply and reduce the overall environmental impact.

  6. Modernize emergency preparedness by improving coordination between federal, state, and local agencies for disaster response.

  7. Promote clean transportation with electric vehicle incentives, charging stations, and expanded public transit options.

  8. Rejoin and strengthen environmental partnerships that hold polluters accountable and protect Maryland’s natural resources for future generations.

  9. Crack down on energy price manipulation and expand energy-efficiency tax credits to help families save on utilities.
