Candidate bio
Terry Jackson is a Democratic candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives in Maryland’s 5th Congressional District. A U.S. Navy veteran and former federal physical security specialist, Jackson has built his career around public service, responsibility, and protecting the public. He lives in Maryland with his wife, Cherie, and their four daughters.
Jackson is running on a platform centered on restoring trust and accountability in government and refocusing Washington on the people elected officials are supposed to serve. He argues that too many families in Prince George’s County and Southern Maryland are being squeezed by rising costs, housing pressure, long commutes, and a political system that too often prioritizes corporate interests over working families.
If elected, Jackson says his priorities include lowering everyday costs, expanding targeted middle-class tax relief, protecting Social Security and Medicare, strengthening support for veterans, service members, and military families, and advancing practical infrastructure and public-safety solutions tailored to the needs of MD-05.
