Hello! Thank you for visiting my campaign website! I’m Terry Jackson — a Navy veteran, former federal security specialist, husband, and proud father of four beautiful girls. My life has been dedicated to placing service above self, and I am excited for the opportunity to represent Maryland’s 5th District.

I’m running for Congress to be the bridge between generations — the point where power begins to move from the political establishment to a new era of leadership rooted in integrity and action. I’m not running to hold onto power; I’m running to renew it.

My mission is to restore trust in government, return power to the people of Maryland’s 5th District, and help prepare the next generation to lead with strength and purpose.

This campaign isn’t about personal ambition; it’s about service and renewal. We deserve a government that listens, acts, and delivers for working families, veterans and seniors — not one that prioritizes the powerful or the connected.

Together, we can rebuild confidence in public service, strengthen Maryland’s 5th District, and ensure that future leaders inherit a system that actually works for the people.

When you look at my campaign, you won’t see a polished politician with rehearsed lines. What you’ll hear from me is raw, honest, and from the heart. I’ll never claim that I have all the answers, but I promise to fight every single day to find solutions that make life better for you.

Leadership isn’t about titles or sound bites. It’s about taking responsibility, showing up when it matters, and standing up for people who can’t afford another broken promise.

What’s happening here in Maryland’s 5th District isn’t unique — it’s a snapshot of what Americans everywhere are feeling: working harder, getting less, and wondering who’s really fighting for them.

My Perspective…

…is that too many Maryland families are doing everything right and still falling behind.  Corporations continue to raise costs, wages remain stagnant, and our current elected officials are too busy looking out for the interest of their billionaire donors instead of their constituents.

WELL, THAT ENDS NOW! I’m running to raise wages, lower everyday costs, protect/strengthen healthcare, make Social Security solvent for future generations, keep our promise to America’s veterans, and make government work for the people. This isn’t about party lines or political games — it's about restoring fairness, dignity, and opportunity for every single American regardless of their political affiliation. When we have economic harmony, where everyone has the opportunity to succeed, that is how we build a strong middle class.

Trickle-down economics was and always has been a farce. The struggles you’re facing are the struggles I understand, and that’s why I’m running.

This campaign is strictly FOR THE PEOPLE, NOT THE POWERFUL.

Here is my candidate pledge:

  1. I will not accept any PAC money to finance this campaign — 100% grassroots fundraising.

  2. I will sponsor legislation that establishes a set number of term limits for members of Congress (3 terms House/2 terms in the Senate).

  3. I will sponsor legislation that removes the “lifetime appointment” for newly appointed Supreme Court Justices.

  4. I will sponsor/support existing legislation that bans insider trading for members of Congress.

  5. I will advocate for “Medicare for All” to ensure that all Americans have access to affordable healthcare.

  6. I will donate $100k of my congressional salary to charities, veterans’ organizations or food banks within Maryland’s 5th District.

  7. I will work to strengthen ethics and transparency laws within Congress in a good-faith effort to restore faith in government.

  8. I will sponsor/support legislation to repeal “CITIZENS UNITED” to remove corporate money and its influence from our politics.

  9. I will support a legislative mechanism that diverts all congressional salaries into a discretionary fund designated to support federal workers during a shutdown.

  10. I will sponsor/support articles of impeachment against the President, Vice President, Cabinet Secretaries and rogue Supreme Court Justices who violate ethical regulations.

I’m not running to join the system. I’m running to fix it, so government finally works for the people who built it. Real change doesn’t come from the top down. It starts with us; the workers, the veterans, the families who never stop fighting for what’s right. PATRIOTISM ISN’T A SLOGAN — IT’S A LIFETIME OF SERVICE.

A Better Maryland, STARTS with us…

I’m running for Congress to fight for Maryland’s working families — to lower costs, protect healthcare, and strengthen our communities.

But that’s only part of the job. We need to invest in schools and teachers, so that every child from Bowie to Waldorf, from Lexington Park to Laurel has a fair shot.

We need to protect the Chesapeake Bay and support the waterman, farmers, and small businesses who depend on it. It means creating good-paying jobs by investing in clean-energy innovation, infrastructure, and local trade to keep our economy strong.

It means ensuring our veterans and seniors can retire with dignity and peace of mind. And it means making sure that every Marylander — regardless of zip code, can afford a roof over their head, quality childcare, and reliable healthcare.

I believe Maryland’s future should be built on fairness, opportunity, and shared success. I’m building a campaign powered by people, not PACS — and we’re proving that integrity and courage still matter in American politics. Join us today and be part of this movement.
